Who we are

The service

A HomeDraw nurse visits the address you give, collects blood for the tests listed on a requisition signed by your clinician, and delivers the samples to Med-Health Laboratories. HomeDraw does not order tests, interpret anything clinical or give results. Your clinician receives the results from the laboratory.

The same tests are free at any community lab with your health card. Our fee is for the nurse's home visit.

Booking

The person booking must be 18 or older and be the patient, a parent or guardian, or a substitute decision-maker. We do not visit children under 12. For a patient under 16, a parent, guardian or substitute decision-maker must be present and agree to the blood draw.

A booking is confirmed only after a HomeDraw coordinator has checked the requisition. If the requisition cannot be used, we tell you why and you may cancel without charge.

Price and payment

The price shown when you book is the full amount you pay. Your card is authorised when you book and charged only as set out in the refund policy.

Visits

The nurse makes no more than two attempts to draw blood in one visit. The nurse may stop a visit for a clinical or safety reason.
